Memories In Montauk

Sure, the 3 hour drive in bumper-to-bumper traffic and the fact that my hair was in a constant state of frizz the whole time that I was in the Hamptons was a bit of a bummer, but the charm of Montauk surpassed all of the quirks that came with it. I always hear New Yorkers talk about "going to the Hamptons". They do it in such a way that makes you feel like you need to see what it's all about. They make it sound like this peaceful escape from the craziness of New York City, and that is exactly what it was. Once you get on to Long Island, Montauk seems like a lifetime away (cue the are we there yets!) since it is the furthest east point on the island, but with the never ending drive comes never ending views. Danny, Laura and I spent our days eating Ice Cream and strolling the streets of Bridgehampton and our nights watching the waves crash along the shore in Montauk. This day was by far one of my favorites. There was no one at the beach but us, and you could probably hear the echo of our laughter for miles - perfect for decompressing after a hectic time in the city.

When I close my eyes tightly, I still hear the sound of the Atlantic ocean and feel the sand between my toes. I don't miss the humidity, but I do miss all of the memories that we made in Montauk.

Now that spring is here, I can't help but wear pops of color everyday! I love how sunny and forgiving the weather is in LA, I can get away with wearing an effortlessly chic dress along with a beautiful faux fur jacket. Lately, I've had more and more meetings than I can count, so I was excited when I had a lunch date planned with my favorite blogger babes, because that meant whipping out this bright yellow jacket. I definitely knew that I wanted to revolve the rest of my outfit around this baby, because I fell in love with the specks of white and bright yellow.

I decided to pair this jacket with a cute yellow dress from Amazon, can I just say that it's such a comfy dress!? Seriously, it was so movable yet still had a nice cut. I'm usually not one to wear boxy type of dresses, but this one didn't look too much like a moo moo, as my fiancĂ© would call it, and I loved how chic the high neck was. I also paired it off with strappy olive green pumps, I loved how nicely the colors complimented each other. To top the rest of the outfit off, I went with a structured Henri Bendel handbag and round sunnies.

Whenever the season changes, I always like to gain some inspiration from either the weather or the natural surroundings that occur from the season change. If you're not sure what to wear, definitely try taking the season into consideration for some quick inspo!

What are your fave spring colors to wear?

90's suit jackets have made a huge comeback, they're everywhere, and I'm completely obsessed! There's something about wearing plaid coats, like this one, that make me feel powerful. I'm sure you know exactly what I mean.
Like I mentioned in my previous post, the weather in LA has been cold, so wearing a jacket is a must when you're out. Even though it's been a little chilly, the sun's still shinning, so layering is perfect for a time like this. I've had this plaid coat in my closet for a while and I was looking forward to styling it on a windy day like this one!

For this outfit, I really wanted to incorporate a little bit of spring color, you know me, I always love to add a little color in my outfits, so I went for a cozy knit top and a sassy burgundy mini skirt. I loved this combo, it was the perfect combination of spring and winter. I topped this outfit off with a faux fur scarf, burgundy clutch to add just a bit more color, and my favorite brown pumps.
