Fur + Fringe

Sweater: Forever 21, Vest: Calypso St. Barth, Bag: Furla, Jeans: Forever 21, Shoes: Charlotte Russe (similar), Necklace: Bauble Bar, Earrings: Bauble Bar

There's nothing like a trip into the woods to make you feel reconnected with nature. That's exactly how I felt when I spent a few days in Big Bear a few months back. I wanted to escape the LA weather and enjoy the crisp fall air. Of course, lots of layers were required for extra warmth. I loved this plushy faux for vest so much and it paired perfectly with my black denim and gray fringed turtleneck. I'd love to make my way back to big bear before winter is over to joy the snow. Hopefully I can make it happen.

Have a great weekend!

Burgundy Bliss

Dress: Image Boutique, Lace Top: Lucy Paris Label, Faux Fur Stole: Ebay, Choker: Bauble Bar, Shoes: Gucci, Clutch: Vintage
Photos by: Jonny Villanueva

There's nothing like layering on different textures, all in the same hue, to make you feel chic and luxurious. I paired a strapless gown with a lace top and a faux fur stole for a look that was glamorous and surprisingly warm. Maybe one day I'll get sick of playing dress up, but I seriously doubt it.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Cape Coat

Cape: Lavish Alice, Skirt: J Crew, Turtleneck: Forever 21 (similar), Sunnies: Eye Buy Direct, Bag: Dolce & Gabbana, Shoes: Jimmy Choo, Ring: Capewell & Co.,

There's just something about wearing a cape that makes me feel so fabulous and this jacket/dress situation was certainly no exception. I fell in love with the clean lines as soon as I put it on. I styled it with a matching navy blue gold button skirt, a leopard tote and nude pumps for a look that was equal parts business and pleasure.

Do you love capes as much as I do?

Thanks so much for stopping by!

This look is winter on the top and summer on the bottom. Only in Southern California could you get away with such a thing in the middle of January! I paired a comfy poncho with distressed denim, a white t shirt, a silver choker and strappy pink sandals for a look that was casual yet put together.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog!

If you follow my Instagram, you already know that I've been on a total faux fur binge lately. I just can't help it. This luxe fabric not only keeps you really warm, but it also just makes every outfit look instantly more luxurious. I'm totally obsessed. I paired my grey jacket with a nude body con and studded pumps.

I hope you had a great week.

Happy New Year!
When the temperature drops, it can sometimes be a struggle to style outfits that are warm and stylish. Last week, I was in New York City and I couldn't help but notice that during this time of year function wins over fashion and most people walk around looking like eskimos in puffer coats that cover their bodies from head to toe. Luckily, southern California's "cold" temperatures still lend itself to styling fun outfits. One thing that I've learned is that layers are your friend and playing with different fabrics and textures is an easy way to make your functional look a bit more fashionable.

For today's post, I paired a flowing maxi (dress worn as a) skirt with strappy sandals, a white turtleneck and a matching white pea coat. To put an east coast friendly spin on this outfit you could swap out the sandals for black over the knee boots and layer 2 (or even 3!) pairs of sheer or opaque nylons underneath for extra warmth. You can also layer a tank or an extra turtleneck under your top, depending on how cold it is.
