Bell of The Ball

(Dress Worn As) Top: Likely NYC, Skirt: Alexia Maria, Shoes: LK Bennett London, Bag: Chanel, Earrings: H&M

Just a quick post to share this burgundy look that I wore a little while back. I tucked the buttom part of my shift dress into this skirt to style it as a top, I was madly in love with the bell sleeves so I just had to let them be the star of the show. Of course the dramatic silhouette on this burgundy skirt was the perfect accompaniment. Getting glam never gets old.

Bundled Up

Jacket: AQ (similar), Scarf: Zara (old), Blouse: J Crew, Bag: Mansur Gavriel, Jeans: YMI, Shoes: Jimmy Choo

What to wear on a cold and rainy day in Los Angeles? A beanie, a light jacket a cozy scarf and probably not suede pumps but, hey, I'm a rule breaker. This look kept me feeling cozy and surprisingly cute on an unseasonably cold day. There's nothing like a beanie to hide your hair from the dreaded drizzle frizz on a rainy-ish day. This little green cutie certainly came in handy.

I hope you had a great long weekend!

There are few things dreamier than a head full of long, flowing, shiny hair. But as someone who once referred to herself as a hairspray enthusiast (I know -- yikes!), you can imagine that I've struggled to find a balance between pretty hair and healthy hair. Unfortunately, the two aren't mutually exclusive. In fact, I'm lucky that my hair is still on my head. With the constant blow drying, straightening, curling, coloring and treatments that I do to it, its a wonder that it has stayed in tact all these years. I've done everything from color corrections to keratin treatments and even a texturizer once. And while my hair doesn't look as healthy as it could, I'm hoping to soon change that.

I've partnered with Living Proof to try their brand new Restore Perfecting Spray along with the rest of the Restore product line for the next two weeks! Living Proof uses cutting-edge science to develop products that get to the root of what our hair needs to look and feel its best. Their products make hair visibly healthier over time without weighing it down with silicones and resins. Restore Perfecting Spray improves hair health by acting as a health shot, to continuously restore strands, and provide time-released conditioning. Not only that, but it also works as a detangler and provides heat & UV protection! I am so excited to take the Restore Challenge in the hopes of taking my damaged hair from fried to fabulous. I'll be sure to check back in two weeks and let you know all the juicy details!

Is your hair as tortured as mine? I'd love to know if any of you have tried Living Proof and hear some of your favorite products, tips and tricks below that help you to reveal #YourBestHair!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I used to dream about what it would be like to see a real fashion show. I wondered what the clothes would be like in real life, how the models would look as they waltzed down the runway, and what the energy in the room would be like. In my mind, it was total sensory overload but in the best possible way. Over the years, I've been fortunate enough to go to fashion shows and make my dream a reality. But the only thing that could enhance the experience even more is seeing all the magic of what happens backstage. This season during New York Fashion Week, I had the honor of partnering with Mary Kay. Not only to get the skinny on all the behind the scenes beauty tips and tricks, but also to get glamorous beforehand. They sent an amazing makeup artist to my hotel room, and in under and hour she had me feeling like a million bucks. For my makeup look, I wanted something that was bold enough to be high-fashion, but subtle enough to wear to daytime events, so I went with a warm smokey eye with gold and brown tones, a dramatic cat eye and a sultry burgundy lip. I started by using Mary Kay's Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover to clean my skin, then I applied their TimeWise Firming Eye Cream to my under eye area. After prepping my skin, my makeup artist, Liani, applied a light base of foundation and topped it off with blush on the apples of my cheeks. After blush, she added the shimmery gold shade in Mary Kay's new Limited-Edition Eye Color Palette in Sunlight (launched 2/16!) all over my eyelids and then followed with a chocolate brown shade in the crease. Liani topped it off with Mary Kay's Liquid Eyeliner Pen and created the perfect cat eye. Lastly, for maximum drama she added two coats of Mary Kay's Lash Intensity Mascara to my lashes and then put on a strip of falsies. Of course, my favorite part is always lipstick so I chose Mary Kay's Gel Semi-Matte Lipstick in Midnight Red and the color was bold, creamy and stayed put all day.

Then I was off to the Tracy Reese show! When I arrived backstage, I was able to see the models in hair and makeup. Tracy Reese and Mary Kay Global Beauty Ambassador Luis Casco  created a theme of glowing skin, peachy eyeshadow, nude lips and freckles. Yep, you read that last part right. While some models already had natural angel kisses across their cheeks, others were being outfitted with fake - strategically placed freckles.  I must admit, at first I scratched my head thinking, hmmm, fake freckles, really? But after seeing their perfectly spotted faces I realized that it gave them a certain je ne sais quoi and took the makeup to a whole other level. After the models were finished with hair and makeup they changed into their final looks for the show and let me just say, Tracy Reese knocked it out of the park. Her collection featured everything from silky caftans and a-line dresses to plaid pantsuits, sequined midi's and faux fur jackets.  Going backstage with Mary Kay made New York Fashion Week even more special for me. I hope that you enjoy this recap as much as I enjoyed covering it for you.

Sparkles For Breakfast

Cape: ASOS (old but similar here), Dress: (worn as shirt) Lulu's, Skirt: Forever 21, Earrings: Kendra Scott, Bag: Dolce & Gabbana, Shoes: Gianvitto Rossi

I told myself that I was going to hold off on making any new, big, purchases for a while since I'm trying to be an adult and save money and all that good (not so fun) stuff. But then one day while I was scrolling on ebay I spotted this gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana bag - brand new with tags! The bag was still on the D&G website at the time for over $2,500 but for something that is this trendy, I would never pay that. So when I saw it on ebay with the bid starting at $1,200 I thought, hmmm, interesting. I put it on my watch list to see what it would go for but when the bidding ended, and nobody had made an offer, I knew that it was my chance to make a move. I contacted the seller and offered her $800 plus shipping and she countered at $850! Insert happy dance here! While I know I was supposed to be saving (I'll start tomorrow, promise!) this was just wayyy too good of a deal to pass up. I took the bag to a re-sale shop to have it appraised and they certified that it is authentic. What a steal of a deal! I go totally weak in the knees for sparkles and this little box bag was just what I needed to make my heart incredibly happy. I paired it with a faux fur capelet and a little pink skirt for a look that was perfect for a breakfast date. This was my first handbag purchase on ebay but certainly won't be my last.

Do you love finding deals on ebay as much as I do? If so I'd love to hear your tips.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Being at the Four Seasons Hotel is one of those experiences that you just don't want to end. From check in until you fall off to sleep, no stone is left unturned. Everything is carefully thought out and perfectly executed. The hotel staff are all knowledgable, friendly and willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. There are few hotels that live up to such a high standard but the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills is certainly one of them. I loved shooting pictures in my gorgeous room, enjoying expansive views from my balcony, walking past the fragrant hydrangeas in the lobby and waking up to delicious breakfast in bed. Definitely a staycation to remember.

Thanks so much for visiting!
