A Subtle Statement

Jacket: Banana Republic (similar in solid grey here), Jeans: YMI, Necklace: 21 HM Boutique, Bag: Prada, Sweater: Heavenly Couture, Shoes: Charlotte Russe

You guys already know how much I love the idea of wearing pink in the fall and this pretty striped jacket is no exception. I love the fact that it is a statement coat, but it has a classic silhouette and a no-fuss vibe. I paired it with dark denim and dressed things up with a glamorous statement necklace and a matching blush colored bag. The perfect look for a lazy weekend out and about in Manhattan Beach.

I hope you're having a great Saturday!

Evening In Emerald

There are few locations in Los Angeles more visually stunning than the Griffith Observatory at sunset. It offers panoramic views of the city, from Santa Monica, to Downtown, to the iconic Hollywood sign. It's one of those places that when I visit I feel lucky to live in Los Angeles. Sure this city is filled with smog, and traffic, and everyone is trying to be a star, but it's also filled with creativity and beauty that spans almost as wide as these glorious views. From the beaches to the Downtown LA skyline, Los Angeles sparkles. Sometimes I look back on that 18 year old girl who moved here from rural Pennsylvania, and I feel proud of how far I've come. Choosing to move to California changed my life for the better and provided me with opportunities that I could have never dreamed of. As much as I love to get away from home and explore, I always love coming back. LA has become like a familiar face that I never tire of. I decided to wear something glamorous (yet impractical) for a date with the city that I have loved for seven years. This look reminded me of old Hollywood glamour. I thought that seemed appropriate for the occasion. Of course, Tony made my vision come to life.

Thanks so much for visiting and following along on this journey.

 Happy Monday!
You guys know that generally speaking I'm not usually a big fan of denim, but when I do wear it I love styles that are cropped, distressed and/or colored. These purple Hudson Jeans were the perfect addition to my denim collection and paired so seamlessly with my black jacket and printed scarf. Also, did I mention that Hudson's jeans are extremely comfy?! They have so much stretch that I kind of feel like I'm wearing leggings, but they have enough support to keep everything in place (if you know what I mean). Zappos has all of the best denim styles for fall, so narrowing it down to just one pair wasn't easy, but I know that these skinny jeans will be on heavy rotation this fall.

Do you love colored denim as much as I do?

Thanks so much for stopping by!

How I Bauble

I’ve loved jewelry since I was a little girl. My mom always tells me about the days when I used to tug on her pearl necklace and how she would catch me trying on her clip-ons just about every time she turned around. So maybe that’s why in my adult life, when it comes to accessories my rule is simple, never leave the house without them. Now, you don’t always have to don a Cleopatra-esque statement necklace, but a little sparkle certainly can’t hurt. There's just something about putting on a shiny new piece of jewelry that makes me feel like the ultimate cool girl. It's not just because people stop to say "where did you get that"? But also because it puts a little extra sparkle in my eye and pep in my step. When I style an outfit, I enlist the help of jewelry to make the look my own. Sure, anyone can buy the latest designer dress but pairing unique accessories with that dress takes it to a whole new level and makes me standout from the crowd. I wear jewelry 7 days a week. When I'm heading to the gym you'll see me wearing a pair of sparkly diamond studs (for real!). When I'm going out with my girlfriends, I always opt for the latest colorful and trendy jewelry pieces like pink tassel earrings. And of course for date nights, I go with classic statement pieces like crystal chandelier earrings or a pearl cluster necklace, which always make me feel elegant.

Today I’ve partnered with BaubleBar to style three looks showcasing some of my favorite jewelry trends of the moment: chokers, layered chains and tassels! For my first look, I styled the black bowtie Whitely Choker with gold Caesar Ear Crawlers and a gold Micro Collar necklace. Chokers are huge this season, so I decided to layer two of them for a little extra umph. The gold ear crawlers pair nicely with this combination because they are subtle but still add a bit of sparkle. For my next outfit, I wanted a bold pop of color to dress up my black and white romper, so what better way to do that than with royal blue tassel earrings!? I love that these blue Ishigaki Drop earrings are playful and elegant at the same time. I paired them with a chic Crystal Mason Ring and tied it all together with a simple gold Micro Collar. Last but not least, I wanted jewelry that would take my gold blazer from formal to trendy, so I decided to layer three necklaces - yes three! First, I started with the burgundy velvet Duchess Choker which is oh-so-fall, then I thought, it needs more... glam. So I added in my Pyramid Spike Y-Chain necklace for length before topping it off with the layered gold Axelia Choker. Together they create the illusion of one super-glamorous statement piece.
Each jewelry look creates a totally different vibe. The gold blazer and burgundy necklace are tailored and glamorous. The striped romper and blue tassel earrings are playful and girly while the black choker and gold ear cuffs are bold and fashion-forward.

So there you have it, adding a few carefully placed baubles to your look is an easy way to make it more glamorous. BaubleBar's jewelry is new and different because they take popular trends and put their own spin on them! Their color selections are always fresh and vibrant and the shapes are always feminine, playful and unique -- perfect for work play and everything in between.

That's how I Bauble. What are some of your favorite jewelry trends?
Thanks so much for reading! I hope you enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed creating it for you.

Style Meets Comfort

Fashion and comfort aren't typically things that go hand in hand. In fact, I myself am guilty of suffering for a good pair of heels. I know it sounds dramatic, but pretty shoes can be really painful! Thanks to SOREL I was able to find these chic black boots that are fashionable, comfortable and perfect for the fall weather! And with's fast shipping they showed up at my door in a flash. For todays look, I paired my boots with a classic combination of tan, black and leopard. A turtleneck sweater dress is the perfect fall staple because it pairs seamlessly with so many things, like this black trench for example. The pop of leopard print was perfect for bringing everything toegther. I can't wait to style these boots a bunch of different ways this fall. I am already envisioning them at the pumpkin patch and shopping for christmas trees. Is it Christmas yet!?
