Linen & Lace

Labor Day is just around the corner, and while I'm not one to follow the "no white after Labor Day" rule, I do feel that it's a pivotal moment where fashion does an obvious shift from summer to fall. Outfits like this probably won't be gracing the pages of A Keene Sense of Style much longer, but I'll still wear summer neutral or transitional looks. If a white lace crop top and linen maxi don't scream summer wardrobe, then I don't know what does. It was fun while it lasted.

Happy Weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Thursday!
Just a quick post to share this pretty pink outfit. I was so obsessed with the pink tree in Pasadena that I just had to shoot under them. Amazing how nature can bring us so much beauty.

I hope you're having a great week!

"Pull over! We have to shoot by those pink shutters!" I exclaimed as we drove through the streets of Santa Barbara. People always ask, "how do you find the locations that you shoot at?" My response? You stumble upon them! You jump in your car wearing something that you want to shoot and as soon as you see a great location that matches it you pull over and hopefully find a (legal) place to park. What I don't recommend is seeing a spot and saying "let's come back to it later" because more often than not you either won't go back, or you won't be able to find it again. After all, you did stumble upon it. With that being said, these pink shutters absolutely stole my heart and served as the perfect backdrop for shooting this dainty white dress.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Salty skin, frizzy hair, sandy toes and that warm Mexican breeze. What I would give to teleport myself back to the Viceroy Riviera Maya. Their property was the ultimate relaxation destination. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway or just a cool hangout spot for you and your bestie, they're sure to exceed your expectations and spoil you with first class service. Danny and I spent the days laying poolside sipping strawberry daiquiris and spent the evenings swimming for hours on end in the crystal clear Caribbean Sea. At one point we had to get out of the water because the rocks were starting to hurt our feet and the friendly hotel staff came over and provided us with water shoes so we could continue our sunset swim. Yes, they really have thought of everything. The grounds at the Viceroy left nothing to be desired. Our hotel room was outfitted with handmade soaps, a private outdoor soaking pool, a movie library, and bottomless shots of Mezcal. Is there really anything else that one needs on a trip to Mexico? Oh, right, bug spray! Don't worry, they have it scattered all over the property so that the only souvenirs you come home with are the ones that you buy in Playa Del Carmen. Danny and I did venture off into town one day but I must say, leaving the Viceroy grounds was difficult. Although there were many shops and cute restaurants in town, next time I think I'll stay put. Being at the Viceroy was like a dream that I never wanted to wake up from. Needless to say, I'll be booking another stay with them very soon.

I hope you enjoy this travel post!

Surely I'm not the only once who noticed that bell sleeves are having a major moment. Whether they are a part of an off the shoulder top, a breezy summer dress or a bold bodycon like this one, big sleeves are a trend that I am absolutely loving! I paired this little fuchsia number with floral pumps, a glamorous silver clutch and statement earrings for a look that would have been perfect for strolling in the streets of Miami.

Thanks so much for visiting me!
