There's a reason why people come from all over, far and wide, to visit Beverly Hills. It has this mysterious allure and illusive glamour that just keeps you wanting more. You come for the shopping but stay for the delicious food, immaculately kept streets and endless people watching. Of course, when visiting Beverly Hills, one must look the part -- and I love any excuse to pull out a full skirt. For the occasion, I decided to pair this pretty blue striped top & skirt (I know it looks like a dress!) with tan bow pumps, a pink & blue baubble necklace and a chic white tote. It was so much fun showing my photographer Jonny around, he had never been to via Rodeo. I felt like I was reliving it again through his eyes for the first time.

I hope you are having a great week! Thanks so much for stopping by!

By March, the idea of bikini season starts looming. We start swapping out our donuts for broccoli florets and heading to the gym instead of happy hour. All so that we can fit into our teeny tiny bikini's come summer. And every year, they seem to get smaller and smaller. The truth is, I've never felt very comfortable in a swimsuit. I know that seems odd, since I showcase clothes here on A Keene Sense of Style all the time, but clothes cover your body and make everything look, well, pretty. Ever since I was young, I felt like I just wanted to hide in my towel anytime that the occasion called for swimwear. But these days, I'm really trying to embrace my body, flaws and all, and yes -- there are many. Full disclosure: For this post, I made the conscious decision to spare you all, my dear readers, from my unsightly stretch marks. You can thank me later. I've always struggled with my weight, sometimes drastically, but that's a story for a different day. Today, I'm trying to love myself more and not hide from bikini season and these 3 super cute suits (and handy coverups!) helped me do just that. This post was really far out of my comfort zone but I hope that you all enjoy it. I probably won't do another swimwear post for a while though because I've really missed donuts and happy hour. Just kidding.

I'd love to hear your tips for surviving bikini season with confidence.
Also, which swimsuit is your favorite? Do you love solids or prints? Lacey fabrics or more classic styles?

Thank you all so much for reading this more personal post and thanks so much for your support!

 Happy Saturday!
Just a quick post today to share this distressed denim look. I paired my favorite long sleeveless trench with comfy denim and added in green suede pumps for a pop of color. This look was perfect for running around on a chilly day.

I hope you're having a great weekend!

Two beauty posts in one week?! I'm really loving playing with makeup lately. Sometimes, I get totally stuck in a rut and do the same makeup routine over and over and over again, but lately, after playing around with makeup, I've been coming up with some really fun combinations. Today, I've partnered with Buxom Cosmetics to share how I created a custom eyeshadow palette using their new eyeshadow bar which has a selection of over 40 colors to choose from! Also, what's even better than having a great variety is that their eyeshadows already have primer built in so you don't have to worry about mid-day creasing or smudging of your shadow. I used my six shadow palette to create two easy looks. For daytime, I always love natural looking lids but instead of doing just my usual gold, I decided to add a touch of pink to the corner of my eyes for a fun pop of color. I added in pink lipgloss and lots of mascara to top things off. For my night look, I wanted to go super sultry so that meant a sexy smoky eye. I added a dark brown eyeshadow to the crease of my eyelids and added a little bit of lightly colored silver/grey shadow to my brow bone.  Since my eyes were smoky, I decided to keep my lips nude and applied some of their glossy lip cream -- which happens to have a built in lip plumper that I can't get enough out of!

Creating my own eyeshadow palette was so much fun! Most of the time when I buy a pre-made palettes at the store there are so many colors that I have to avoid because they either don't flatter my skin tone or are just something that I wouldn't wear. With this customizable palette, I was able to create a combination of colors that I know I'll get plenty of use out of.

Do you ever have this problem? What colors would you use in your custom eyeshadow palette? Thanks so much for visiting me! Xoxo -E

Color Blocked Blooms

Top: NBD, Skirt: H&M (similar), Bag: Kohls, Jacket: Sheinside (also loving this style) Shoes: Charles David, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: Anarchy Street

It's finally Summer (officially!) and that means, travel, ice cream dates, weekend adventures and of course, colorful outfits. Color blocking has always been one of my favorite trends because, well, I love color. In this look, I decided to pair solid colors with this fabulous floral jacket. Last summer, while I was in Italy, I popped into Dolce & Gabbana to do some much-needed window shopping and I spotted this jacket. It was stunning, something that will live forever in my dreams, because the price tag was crazy expensive. I mean, don't get me wrong, I know you're paying for the concept and the expert craftsmanship but, it's just not in my budget. So then, a few months go by and I'm shopping on one of my favorite bargain websites - Sheinsde when I spot this beauty. It's a total wannabe version of the dolce and gabbana jacket that I fell in love with! I paid around $20 for it. Needless to say, Sheinside has quickly become one of my favorite sites. They have all of the trends without the scary price tag. I'm a bit obsessed.

Does this ever happen to you? Do you fall in love with designer pieces and find similar versions of it for a fraction of the price? I love a good deal so be sure to share! Come back again soon!

Beachy waves are my signature hair look and in the summertime, I rock this style almost everyday. So partnering with Nume to share how I achieve this look was a no-brainer.  Using their Lustrum Set & Argan Oil I created this simple summer style in just a few easy steps.

1. I started by applying the oil to my hair starting with my ends and working my way up.
2. I sectioned my hair on one side into two sections - top & bottom.
3. I began curling the bottom of my hair and wrapping it around the wand, curling away from my face. Be sure to point your wand downwards to create the wavy look.
4. I moved to the top section of my hair & repeated the same process on the other side.
5. When I finished curling, I let my hair cool down and then I combed out the curls with my fingers to give it a more natural look.

Now for makeup, I wanted to try a foundation that was lighter coverage for summer, while still having a flawless look. This Belletto Airbrush Kit did just that! Using circular motions, I took the spay gun and applied a thin layer of foundation all over my face. I mixed "Sweet Honey" & "Sahara Sand" to get the perfect look. I made sure that when I pulled the latch back, I didn't pull all the way so that I could really control the amount that was dispersed. After my foundation was applied, I added some eye shadow and a berry colored lipstick for a bold, yet summery look.

I hope you enjoyed this beauty post! It was so fun sharing my summer routine with you. Be sure to let me know if you would like to see more posts like this one. Thank you to Nume & Belletto Studio for partnering with me!
