Off Duty Denim

Jacket: Zara (old), Shirt: American Eagle, Jeans: Fidelity Denim c/o, Earrings: H&M, Bracelets, Watch: Michael Kors, Necklace & Rings: Charlotte Russe c/o, Bag: Fendi, Shoes: Charlotte Russe c/o
Happy Friday everyone!
Today, I went for an off duty look pairing my distressed boyfriend jeans with a striped button down shirt, a tweed jacket, and strappy sandals. I wanted to juxtapose the masculine style of the jeans so I paired them with a ladylike pink jacket and a baby blue cross body bag. Oversized jeans are so nice and comfy -- perfect for a casual Friday!

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!

Polk Dots & Pearls W/ David Kind

Dress: Taylor Dress c/o, Earrings: H&M, Necklace: J Crew, Bag: Fendi, Shoes: Zara (similar here), Eyewear: David Kind c/o
Photos by: Melanee Shale

What better way to make me feel lovely and ladylike than to dress up in a full skirted midi dress complete with polka dots, stripes and a sheer neckline. When I first laid eyes on this black Taylor dress I knew that it would be the perfect addition to my midi dress collection, and I was right. I styled it simply with a pearl necklace and matching blue accessories so that I could let the dress be the star of the show.

On another note, I'm so excited to share with you a fun collaboration that I've been working on with David Kind eyewear. Remember when I told you a few months ago (in this post) about my love for glasses? No not sunnies, but prescription glasses. When I was a little girl I would always tell my mother that I wanted glasses. "All my friends have them, why can't I"? Well, it's because I had 20/20 vision and they didn't. I never stopped wanting them though. Finally, it dawned on me one day. I work in fashion -- anything goes. So now I love pairing them with different outfits (like here & here) to create more of a serious geek-chic vibe. Most people are scared to order glasses online because it's just one of those things where you really need to try them on, and I agree, that's why I found the David Kind approach to be so genius. When you sign up for the site and upload a picture of yourself, their in-house stylist (no not a computer robot stylist but a real one) who has spent her career putting glasses on celebs, picks out the frames that work best with your face and curates a "try-on" set for you. Basically, they take all of the work out of finding new glasses and all that's left is the fun part -- trying them on at home! When you're done you simply ship back the try-on set with your prepaid return label and your perfect pair arrives in just 5 business days. The toughest part of the process for me was narrowing it down. I had 4 pairs that I loved, but after having a FaceTime call with the David Kind team they helped me to narrow it down.  They take a very hands-on approach to eyewear to give customers a unique experience, and I must say, I'm a fan.

Be sure to check out their site here and their blog here for all of your eyewear needs.

Hat: Downtown Style c/o, Turtleneck: Target, Pants: Forever 21 (similar here), Necklace: DaisyGem c/o (Use the code SENSE10 at checkout to get 10% off your order and that 10% will be donated to the Feed The Children Org.), Earrings: H&M, Watch: Michael Kors, Jacket: BCBG Max Azria, Shoes: Charlotte Russe c/o, Bag: Gucci

Happy Monday everyone!
I spent most of my weekend feeling a little under the weather, so all though there wasn't much excitement, there was lots of much-needed rest and relaxation. Today's look that I want to share is all about this pretty green hat. When I first spotted it at the Dynamic Asia showroom, I just knew that it's beautiful jewel tone would pair perfectly with so many things. I took a bit of a matchy-matchy approach by pairing it with a matching green turtleneck before topping it off with a bright white jacket, a sparkly statement necklace, and sleek (faux) leather pants.

Also, I'm not sure if you've noticed, but this DaisyGem necklace has become and instant favorite of mine! In addition to today's look, I've already worn it here and here. I guess that makes me a repeat-offender? Oh well. You can score this chic sparkler for 10% off using the code SENSE10 at checkout and that ten percent will then be donated to the Feed The Children Organization. Now, that's what I call a win win. Happy shopping!

Full Skirted & Over The Knee

Turtleneck: J Crew, Jacket: Ebay "Eurochic Boutique", Skirt: Charlotte Russe (similar here) c/o, Tights: American Apparel, Earrings: H&M, Bracelets: Ann Taylor & TJ Maxx, Bag: Thrifted (similar here), Shoes: Prada
For todays look I channeled my inner school girl pairing a full-skirted jacket with a white turtleneck, a navy blue skirt, and white over the knee socks. I kept my accessories minimal so that this pretty pink jacket could be the star of the show. Knee high socks are definitely a new trend for me. What do you think of them?

I hope you have a great weekend. Thanks for visiting!

A Midi Moment

Shirt: Old Navy, Skirt: Romwe, Earrings: H&M, Bracelets: Sole Society c/o, Charming Charlie, Watch: Michael Kors, Necklaces: Nina Shoes c/o & Tiffany & Co., Clutch: Gorjana Griffin c/o, Shoes: Charlotte Russe c/o

It was a day filled with laughter and photo shoot fun when my friend and favorite photographer Ryan Chua came to town. He, Melanee and I started off our day with a much-needed breakfast at Denny's, before setting out in Pasadena to scout photo shoot locations. We ended up finding a gorgeous spot at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals where the grounds were complete with beautiful pomegranate trees, rosebush-lined walkways and lush greenery. Coincidentally, Mel and I had pretty similar looks planned wearing full midi skirts with plaid and leather details (you can see more on her blog here) so, naturally, we had to snap a picture together. It was a lovely day spent with two of my favorite people.

I hope you enjoyed your weekend! Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. day!

Happy Friday everyone!
It has been an exceptionally long week over here and what better way to greet the day than with a few pretty pastels!? I've got to be honest, today I just felt the need to step away from dark fall colors and decided to pull out some of my favorite Spring pastels instead. I added in a touch of fur for texture and lots of jewelry to keep things glamourous. I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend!

A Feminine Edge

Jacket: Alexander McQueen via Intermix (similar here), Blouse: Lasta Shop c/o, Necklace: Chico's (old), Pants: Ralph Lauren (also loving these wide leg styles), Earrings: H&M, Watch: Michael Kors via Nordstrom, Bracelets: Gifted, Gloves Via Ebay, Shoes: Love Culture, Bag: Erin Dana c/o

Wide leg trousers, a pretty printed blouse, and a chic statement necklace for today's feminine-meets-edgy ensemble. With the crazy hot temperatures in LA I have definitely had to modify my "winter" fashion looks. I know it seems crazy to complain about sunny skies and 80 degree temps but I have cold weather clothes that are dying to be worn. Oh well, I guess I just have to take them to New York when I go for fashion week. I can see it now; gloves, and layering, and faux fur -- oh my! Until then I shall wait patiently.

I hope you are having a fantastic week! Thanks so much for visiting me!
