Happy Monday everyone!
For today's look, I pulled out one of my favorite vintage short suits and put a fun and modern spin on it by pairing it with a black and white polka dot top. I found this suit at the Goodwill a few months back when I was shopping with my Mom. Thrifting is a lot of work and it was one of those days where I just wasn't really in the mood. My mom spotted it (it was originally a pantsuit) and said "Oh that's sharp, you should get it". I was like "I don't know it's not my size and I already have enough things in my alterations pile." She insisted that I buy it and I'm so glad that I did! Since the pants are a 6 petite they were really big in the waist and not quite long enough, so I had my tailor take in an inch or so in the waist and turn them into shorts! Problem solved, and it only cost me around $15. This is one of those things that I would wear for New York Fashion week -- the perfect balance between vintage and modern. I guess sometimes, mother knows best.

I hope that you had a good weekend and a lovely Mother's Day!

  1. Oh Elizabeth, this look is looking so absolutely interesting! First of all, that vintage suit is a more than fabulous finding; than, I just can't stop loving that mix between dots and stripes, even more in this unique combination of thinner patterns; and even more, those socks were the perfect complement to it, it's so improbable but to so perfectly.

  2. What a great short pant suit, and I love how you use polka dots under blouse to add additional print. Amazing look and gorgeous as usual.

  3. Great look! Very classy.
