Great Lengths

Top: Classiques Entier, Skirt: (dress worn as skirt) Charlotte Russe, Belt: Vintage, Earrings: Forever 21, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: Lenora Dame, Bag: Talbots, Shoes: H&M

I decided to pair this lovely dress with a silk top and a belt to take it from a "strolling along the beach look" to a perfectly polished daytime ensemble. Also, I added flats instead of heels (it was so hard for me) because of the length of the dress. Flats are okay too -- sometimes.

Simple Shorts Suit

Shirt: OVI via Fashion of Echo, Blazer: Giovanni Signature, Shorts: Gap, Belt: Vintage, Earrings: Forever 21, Bracelets: Gifted, Watch: Kessaris Quartz, Shoes: Zara, Bag: Kenneth Cole Reaction, Sunglasses: Prada

Here is my take on the summer shorts suit. This look is easy to recreate all you need is a great blazer to work with and you can pair it with any matching shorts of your choice. It's chic and easy while being incredibly polished. Also, since you have the blazer you can take it from day to night easily; dress it up by adding a great printed top or something sparkly underneath.

Fringed

Blazer: Via Paris and Me Boutique, Skirt: Guess, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelets: Forever 21 and Gifted, Earrings: H&M, Scarf: Vintage, Shoes: B Brian Atwood, Bag: Prada

Today was a good day because I got to dust off a pair of my favorite shoes and take them out for a little spin. I decided to do a minimalist white on white look with pretty gold accents that I picked up in the heel of the shoe, the hardware on my bag, the buttons on the blazer, the jewelry, and in my scarf. The scarf acted as a shirt because I tied it in a way that caused it to drape down longer (although I did wear a cami underneath). These shoes are a beautiful royal purple and the scarf is royal blue, things don't always have to match, blue and purple are like cousins!
I am looking forward to a lovely weekend in the sun, and I hope you have a very happy Friday!

A Serious Case Of Lace

Dress: BCBG Max Azria, Earrings: Gifted, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: Lenora Dame, Bag: Alfani, Shoes: Christian Louboutin

I am absolutely in love with the lace applique trend that I have been seeing everywhere this spring. This dress is such a beauty. Not only is the lace lovely, but the color combination paired with the subtle drop waist is enough to make my heart sing. Who ever thought it would be a great idea to mix a bright and a neutral in one dress was a genius. I mean, doesn't the tan make the bright coral /orange pop beautifully?  Also, I decided to keep my shoe and bag toned down so that this dress could be the star of the show. And how about these earrings?! I love them; they remind me that it's spring, which means summer is just around the corner.

Work Wear

Dress: Zara, Belt: Vintage, Purse: Vintage, Earrings: Forever 21, Watch: Michael Kors, Shoes: Gucci

Today I decided to do a chic and easy work look option. This dress is a really small houndstooth print all over. I added a dark green belt to break up the pattern a little and to incorporate another color. I then played off of the gold hardware in the belt by putting subtle gold accents with the purse strap and my watch.

On another note, anytime that you are wearing a low hemline or midi dress (like this one) be sure that you don't wear a shoe with an ankle strap. You don't want to break up the line of the leg (it will only make you look shorter).

Mellow Yellow

Blazer: H&M, Top: Via Marshalls, Shoes: Charles David, Bag: Vintage, Pants: Carlisle, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: Lenora Dame, Earrings: H&M

Today I paired this floral top with bright yellow pants and added a structured blazer to make things a little more polished. What I love most about this versatile blazer are the gold buttons and the fact that you can dress it up or down. The top and the blazer work well together because they share a common color, navy blue.

What I Wore To The Opera

Dress: Vintage (altered), Earrings: Forever 21, Bag: Gianni Bernini, Shoes: Christian Louboutin

This Saturday I had the chance to go to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in downtown Los Angeles to view the La Boheme Opera. It was a wonderful experience, and I always love an occasion to get all dolled up.  Since it was a matinee I was so unsure of what I should wear. I did a little research scouring the web and although I wanted to break out my red beaded floor length gown, I just knew it would be too evening-wear-ish. I thought that this lovely black dress with its delicate lace and pearl back was a happy marriage between fancy and matinee. I did see a few floor long dresses but most of them were mid length. If you ever have the chance to go to the Opera, you should definitely take advantage of it!

Prancing About

Romper: Ark and Co. via Paris and Me Boutique (Coronado Island), Earrings: Fashion of Echo Boutique, Bag: B Makowsky, Shoes: Ivanka Trump, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelets: Gifted (assorted), Necklace: Forever 21, Sunglasses: No Brand

I purchased this pretty playful romper while vacationing in San Diego over this past Memorial Day weekend. I stumbled upon Paris and Me Boutique as I was strolling around the streets of Coronado Island, and it was immediate sensory overload. There were so many beautiful and colorful things dangling from the hangers that I didn't even know where to begin. I purchased this along with some gorgeous kelly green shorts, and a double breasted white blazer, score! Something about this lovely romper just says have fun and don't take life so seriously.

Vintage Charm

Top and Pants: Vintage Saks Fifth Avenue "Totally Mr. Mort by Stan Herman", Necklace: Forever 21, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelets: Gifted, Earrings: H&M, Bag: B Makowsky, Shoes: Christian Louboutin

As you may already know, I love all things vintage. Whether it be a vintage bag or belt, or a full on ensemble like today's look. Adding vintage pieces to an outfit gives it character. I am positively smitten with this yellow Stan Herman pant suit, and I find that the color is perfect for spring and summer. Also, I love the fact that I can separate these pieces and wear them with other things, like I did in this post.

What do you think? Do you have any go to vintage pieces in your wardrobe?

One Skirt Two Ways

Skirt: Via Weekenders Boutique (inside of the Hotel Del Coronado), Watch: Michael Kors, Shoes: BCBG Generation, Tan & Red Clutch: Vintage, Both Statement Necklaces Via Forever 21, Gold Studs: H&M, Large Coral Earrings: Forever 21

Over the long weekend I purchased this lovely teal skirt, while I was vacationing in San Diego. What I love most about this skirt is the fact that it can be worn a multitude of ways. I'm always trying to re-configure clothing to serve multiple purposes; turning dresses to skirts and skirts to dresses (we have to maximize our wardrobe). In the first look, I wore the skirt with a plain white tank and let the accessories be the star of the show and in the second look I wore the skirt as a dress. Since it was a bit shapeless I added a belt and a matching statement necklace.
Next time you look in your closet start thinking about how you could wear something differently.
